Texas Senate honors UT's Colt McCoy
A resolution Wednesday honoring University of Texas quarterback Colt McCoy turned members of the Senate into a bunch of autograph seekers.
McCoy led the Longhorns to a 12-1 record and a Fiesta Bowl win over Ohio State last season.
The student athlete was joined by UT President William Powers on the Senate floor in Austin.
Then McCoy had to entertain a long line of Senators who wanted to shake his hand, take pictures and talk football.
It didn't end there.
Once he ducked into a hallway, McCoy was swamped by more autograph seekers.
Some female Senate staffers waited their turn for photographs with McCoy.
Sen. Florence Shapiro of Plano, who sponsored the honoring resolution, had to wait to get McCoy's autograph. McCoy had given her one a few weeks ago, but Shapiro said she made the mistake of not getting one for all of her grandchildren.
