Orakpo unanimous All-American

Texas defensive end Brian Orakpo was tabbed first-team All-America honors by The Sporting News on Wednesday. Orakpo is now the 19th player in UT history to earn unanimous all-America honors based on teams recognized by the NCAA.

In addition to The Sporting News, Orakpo has been selected first-team All-America by the Associated Press, Walter Camp Football Foundation, Football Writers Association of America and American Football Coaches Association.

The Longhorns have had five unanimous All-Americans in the last five years: OL Justin Blalock (2006), S Michael Huff (2005), OT Jonathan Scott (2005) and LB Derrick Johnson (2004).
